Coach & Mentor

Coaching and mentoring are powerful tools for unlocking a person’s full potential by providing guidance, support, and personalised strategies for growth.

Through coaching, my clients gain clarity about their goals, identify and overcome challenges, and develop actionable plans to achieve success.

As a Mentor, I can use a wealth of experience to offer wisdom, encouragement, and real-world insights.

Together, these approaches foster self-awareness, build confidence, and enhance skills, enabling individuals to reach their personal and professional aspirations while maximising their unique strengths.

FAQs

How do I decide if I want coaching or mentoring?

The terms coaching and mentoring are often used interchangeably, leading to confusion about their distinct roles.

A mentor is someone with greater knowledge and experience in a specific area, such as leadership. They provide guidance by listening, asking questions, and offering advice or suggestions based on their own expertise. Mentors are especially valuable when you’re starting out in a new area and lack personal experience to draw from.

A coach, on the other hand, also listens and asks insightful questions, but their primary role is to help you discover your own best solutions. Coaching conversations are designed to be challenging, supportive, reflective, and motivational, empowering you to unlock your potential and achieve your goals.

How do I know how long I need a coach for?

The duration and structure of coaching will depend on your specific circumstances, and this is determined during the initial contracting conversation. This conversation is where the coach and client agree on the scope of the coaching, set boundaries and expectations, and decide on the length of the coaching relationship.

Some clients prefer a single session to address a specific issue, while others opt for a more common arrangement of four sessions with flexible intervals between them. Additionally, clients with a specific goal in mind may choose to begin the coaching relationship with a dedicated goal-setting session to lay the foundation for their progress.
